NOTES

·        For registration you will need to follow the instructions as outlined at the website of the International Foundation for Production Research.  Alternatively, you can contact the Chair of the Committee Doctoral Training and Early Career Researchers Programme: Dr Rob Dekkers (rob.dekkers@glasgow.ac.uk).

·        Note that the organisers of the 27th International Conference on Production Research will charge a compulsory subsistence fee for attending the Early Career Researchers Programme.  For more information see the website of the conference: https://www.icpr2023.org/

·        The deadline for applying to the doctoral workshop is 1st June, 2023 (GMT); however if at the deadline there are still spaces open you can apply until 7th July 2023.

·        You will be eligible for participating in this programme if you are undertaking a doctoral study within the scope of the International Foundation for Production Research.  If you fulfil this condition, you may send an application to the Doctoral Training and Early Career Researchers Committee; the application should contain three documents:

o   A certified copy of your registration for a doctoral degree (incl. year of first registration and mode [FT/PT]); might you have a different mode of registration but still be considered to be a doctoral student, you will need to submit an official document that clarifies your status.

o   One letter of reference from your supervisor.

o   A letter of motivation.

·        Note that the maximum number of participants is limited to 30.  Might there be more than eligible 30 candidates at the deadline of 1st June, 2023 (GMT), then the Committee Doctoral Training and Early Career Researchers Programme will prioritise attendance and notify the applicants as soon as possible.  Might less than 30 eligible candidates apply before the deadline, then applications will be treated on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis until 7th July 2023.

·        For the session ‘Discussion of Papers and Research Projects’ (Friday 21sth July - Sunday 23rd July, 2023, final session of the workshop each day) you have to prepare a report about your research project.  Alternatively you can use the paper that you are presenting to the conference.  This report should end with three challenges you face for the completion of your doctoral study.  The main body of text should be no longer than 5000 words (excluding abstract/summary, references, tables and figures).  You should send this report to the Chair of the Committee Doctoral Training and Early Career Researchers Programme: Dr Rob Dekkers (rob.dekkers@glasgow.ac.uk).  Deadline: 7th July 2023.

·        For the session ‘Discussion of Papers and Research Projects’ (Friday 21sth July - Sunday 23rd July, 2023, final session of the workshop each day) you have to prepare a Powerpoint presentation of 10’.  This presentation should cover your research project for the doctoral study but not necessarily the contents of the paper you are presenting during the conference.  Each presentation will be discussed by one discussant, followed by a discussion led by a board member of the International Foundation of Production Research.  The discussants will receive the papers in advance so that they can prepare their commentary.

·        To each report a discussant will be assigned.  In the role of discussant you need to prepare a Powerpoint presentation of max. 15’ with constructive comments about the report and the challenges mentioned in the report.  Each participant will discuss only once the research project of another participant.

·        For the session ‘Meet the Board Event’ (Sunday 23rd July, 2023) you have to prepare a poster about your research project.  This presentation should cover your research project, but not necessarily the contents of the paper you are presenting during the conference.  The size of the poster is max. A0 (or could be alternatively, poster size 36”x48”).

·        To receive a certificate, you are expected to attend all sessions.  The organisers of the 27th International Conference on Production Research will ensure that the presentation of a paper will not coincide with attendance to the Early Career Researchers Programme.
