Conference city

 

Cluj-Napoca is one of the most active cities in Romania from a scientific and cultural perspective. Located in the Northwestern region of the country, the city was first attested during the Roman occupation of Dacia, in 106 A.D. Since the middle of the 16th century, it became the main commercial center of Transylvania and one of the most important hubs in Eastern Europe. Nowadays, 400.000 people call this city home.
Having a strong multi-cultural nature, Cluj-Napoca is inhabited by Romanians, Hungarians, Germans, Jews and others. As this makeup enables the exchange of ideas, higher education naturally developed during the last century, becoming one of the major strengths of Cluj-Napoca. The city is a major university center of Romania, hosting six important higher education institutions, with over 100.000 students. A brief video presentation of the city is included below.

Conference authors                 350 € (Early Bird fee of 250 € by June 30, 2023) 
PhD students                           150 € (includes the Doctoral Training Programme)
Retired scientists and accompanying persons pay 150 € at any time.
PhD students / Early Career Researchers that only attend the workshops (no papers) pay 50 € at any time.



Travelling

Cluj-Napoca is accessible using the following options:
Airport – click here for information on routes from many European cities, timetables and services. Also, see the table below for orientation.
Transfer from the airport can be done by bus/trolley or taxi. If you need assistance or you want to arrange a pick-up, please send us an email.
Road – European routes E60, E81 and E576 (linking to E58) intersect in Cluj-Napoca. Find a route using Google maps.
Train – The train line going from Bucharest to Budapest and Vienna passes through Cluj-Napoca. Find a route using the DB site.
